The first Asian Bird Fair was held here in Davao on Sept. 24-25 at the Insular Hotel grounds here. My kids were excited knowing they could see variety of birds at the fair, but unfortunately it was a birdless fair, as the exposition was mainly organized to promote awareness and educational drive amongst stakeholders.

The fair was participated by hundreds of Bird enthusiast all over Asia, with the aim of primarily promoting awareness of the importance of the birds in our ecosystem, how humans have encroach and destroy their habitat and how will this phenomenon affect humans. It was an eye-opener fair… though the kids was disappointed because there were no live birds to watch on.

  1. What a wonderful event. I adore birds so that would have definitely been a festival I would attend. Thanks for sharing with us.

  2. One hopes that the organizers will read this entry and "correct" the festival for its second time.

Please have you all a good Tuesday.

  3. I'd love to take a closer look at those framed photographs! We're going to an art fair this weekend!

  4. Thank you for coming and understanding that birds are best kept in the wild. A real wild bird festival should not have any live birds, but draw attention to how and where they can be seen in their natural habitat, and how we could help preserve them! Until the next Bird Festival!
