I was at a gas station fronting this building in Cabaguio Ave. some days back and while waiting for the pump boys to finish their stuff, I spotted this banner at the adjacent building ... no offense meant to the owner but I really had a hearty laugh out loud on this one ...

It’s just that I’m used to signages that says ... this building is for sale ... probably my orientation is bent towards pro-motion and here comes the total opposite. The bus boy said, that the owner got irritated by the persistent would-be buyers and he really is not intending to sell this property – so, I actually find this strategy  very logical, rather than individually explaining might as well put up something there to keep everyone informed that – hey I’m not selling this building including the umbrella. Cool!

I don't often visit SM City in Ecoland here in Davao City as it'll take me 15 to 20 minutes to get to Ecoland from my place, R. Castillo St. But when Abreeza Mall opened in Bajada - that was way an advantage since my travel time was cut shorter by 10 minutes – yeah, that’s how impatient this shopper can be.

In a year’s time even less so, this SM City in Lanang, the second SM in Davao, will soon welcome consumers from the north side and guess what? My travel time will be cut shorter by 5 minutes again, geesh, how I wish their parking is also covered.

Anyway, Davao City ranked to be the 5th richest cities in the Philippines, but I wonder why this blogger hasn’t been, aahhhhh, need to work hard, harder, hardest to buy ‘Bonus’ stuff at SM grocery. Hahaha!

“Then the carousel started, and I watched her go round and round...All the kids tried to grap for the gold ring, and so was old Phoebe, and I was sort of afraid she's fall off the goddam horse, but I didn't say or do anything. The thing with kids is, if they want to grab for the gold ring, you have to let them do it, and not say anything. If they fall off, they fall off, but it is bad to say anything to them.” ― J.D. Salinger, The Catcher In The Rye

The Carousel at Victoria Plaza which my kids had lots of memories of what it's like 'grabbing for the gold ring' ridin' a horse.

It’s time for another break with the boys, but where will 2012 take you? Pack your tour tees and your beach binoculars, summer holidays in Zante don’t come fitter than this.

Laganas is one of the most popular destinations in the Med when your itinerary boils down to the triple Bs – beach, bars and babes (in bikinis!). This is where it is at, a classy Greece resort with world class clubs and DJs.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to hit back to back bars after a day sailing your own speedboat through the stunning Laganas waters. This destination isn’t for the faint hearted. Temperatures during the summer hit well over 30 degrees C – so do as your mum says and pack that sunscreen!

The closer to the beach you are the better. The Laganas clubbing scene centres around the main strip of sand which runs from Cherry Bay to the far end of Laganas Beach. Laganas has a real charm about it. There’s such diversity in ways to spend your nights, you will leave feeling that you’ve had a really worthwhile trip.

Hardcore party rockers will love the likes of Hed Kandi, every Saturday at the Legendary Club, while old school classics blast out at Neon Nights, Laganas’ underground rave. Whether you are showing off your tan or impressing the ladies, Cherry Bay is the place for a night on the beach with some cheesy tunes.

When you fancy a break from lounging around in the daytime, grab a speedboat with the lads and take a tour around the Greek Islands. The nature here pretty special and turtle spotting is on the agenda. It’s something to tell your mum about when you get home, at least.
